The Twin Palms neighborhood we know and love today would not exist if it were not for the vision of William Krisel, one of Palm Springs most significant mid-century modernist architects.

In 2018 the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization launched a museum quality exhibit to honor William Krisel.

The 10 bi fold panels tell the story of the visionary architectural design of the 1956 Ocotillo Lodge and the ninety home sub-division that were the initial projects forming the basis for what is now Twin Palms.

The Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization has established an exhibit honoring William Krisel for his contributions to the architecture of our Twin Palms neighborhood in Palm Springs, California. To help underwrite the costs of development, construction, exhibition, and preservation of the Exhibit, TPNO has established a sponsorship program.

NUSA Conference Features William Krisel’s Twin Palms Exhibit.

From May 15th through May 18, 2019, Palm Springs hosted the annual Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) national conference for the first time in NUSA’s 44-year history. NUSA is the national association of neighborhood organizations and the city staffs that serve them.

Neighborhood USA Leadership Explore the Krisel Twin Palms Exhibit.

Members of the Neighborhoods USA (NUSA) Board of Directors toured the William Krisel’s Twin Palms Exhibit at the Palm Springs Public Library during their October 2018 planning visit to prepare for their National Conference in Palm Springs in May 2019.

William Krisel’s Twin Palms Exhibited at Convention Center.

On April 14 and 15, the 2019 “Preservation Matters” conference was held in the Palm Springs Convention Center.

William Krisel’s Twin Palms Exhibit at the Palm Springs Public Library.

The Palm Springs Public Library is hosting the William Krisel’s Twin Palm Exhibit from October 15, 2018 to November 24, 2018 in the main reading room.

City Proclamation.

February 16, 2016 was proclaimed William Krisel Day in the City of Palm Springs on the occasion of the naming William Krisel Way in his honor.

William Krisel Street Dedication.

In 2016 the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization took the lead to rename a gateway street into Twin Palms to honor Mr. Krisel. Over 200 people attended the Dedication Ceremony, including the Mayor and all 4 City Councilpersons.
