The Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization held a General Membership Meeting on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:15 am at the Indian Canyons Golf Resort North Club Course. Palm Springs Mayor Grace Garner was the featured guest speaker.
For the first time since January 2019, the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization’s Saturday, October 28, 2023 General Membership meeting was held at 10:15 am at the beautiful North Clubhouse at the historic Indian Canyons Golf Resort.
During registration attendees enjoyed pasties and beverage, and a boxed lunch was provided at the conclusion of the meeting. The informal portions of the meeting provided the opportunity for people to socialize with their neighbors.
The meeting featured two speakers. City of Palm Springs Mayor Grace Garner shared updates on several important issues facing the City, and answered questions. Police Department representative Mike Kovaleff addressed issues related to safety and crime and also fielded questions.
Major agenda items included approval of changes to our Community Grants and Neighborhood Initiative Policies, announcement of a $3,500 Community Grant for the Restoration of the Ocotillo Lodge Portico Signage, and a preview of the new look and functionality of our website to be launched in the near future.
Other highlights included welcoming new Board member David Carlson, and presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to retiring member Jeffery Burnell. Other updates included an overview of current Financial report, Walking Tours for local residents, the newest William Krisel Exhibit panel entitled “Beyond Krisel”, and an update on ONE-PS activities.
The meeting concluded with an overview of upcoming events including the January 20, 2024 General Membership Social Meeting, the February 19, 2024 Modernism Week Twin Palms Home Tour, and the Annual Meeting which will be scheduled for late March, and will include election of Advisory Board members for 2-year terms.
